Isabel an ex GWR Autocoach

GW autocoaches from the 1930s-50s were built for "push-pull" working. As explained elsewhere, this was point-to-point operations not requiring movement of the locomotive to the train's other end. To accommodate more passengers, sometimes another autocoach was added to the other end of the train. For even more, even more coaches would be added to either end, with the locomotive gamely puffing in the middle. Face here by Daniel David Snell.

Isabel arrived with Oliver in "Enterprising Engines" (1968)
